Real-time and Embedded Systems (RTES) Lab at the University of Seoul is a leading research group of EtherCAT-based industrial automation in Korea. Since 2009, RTES Lab has been conducting academic/practical researches on the construction of an open framework for networked motion control system development and validation in a holistic way. The research topics of RTES Lab include open-source based IEC 61131-3 compliant IDE for PLC applications, PC-and ARM-based real-time motion controller platform, formal verification of industrial automation systems, and design and test procedure automation for motion applications.

System Software Laboratory (SSL) conducts researches on the system software for embedded computing systems. Main research areas include real-time systems and industrial informatics. SSL is performing various projects on EtherCAT-based automation: Open source automation, ARM-based EtherCAT Master platform, EtherCAT Master redundancy, Enhancement of EtherCAT Distributed Clock, Lightweight real-time kernel for EtherCAT servo drive.

Power Electronics and Energy Transfer Systems Lab. (PEETS),

PEETS is an abbreviation of Power Electronics and Energy Transfer Systems Lab. at the University of Seoul. PEETS provides solutions for high-frequency electromagnetic energy transfer systems using machine learning and multi-objective optimization that include electric vehicles, wireless power transfer systems, high-frequency transformer design for solid-state-transformer, high-voltage multilevel active rectifiers, and inverters.
PEETS
