The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (NCU) was founded in 1945. The Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Informatics has state-of-the-art research infrastructure including the National Laboratory of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (KL FAMO), and the Center for Quantum Optics (COK). The faculty strengths are photonics and quantum physics, interdisciplinary research based on computational methods, AI, neural networks, GPU computing, electronics, robotics, sensors, and IoT. The Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Informatics conducts research and development of servodrives with advanced controls using artificial neural networks. Researches are also focused on servodrive control in CNC systems, including systems with high performance linear motors.
