To lead the green energy industry, the Electric Energy Conversion Lab. conducts research on electrical energy conversion and design and control of electrical systems. Its research topics include motors of electric vehicles, piezoelectric transducers and ultrasonic motor design and control, fuel cells, secondary battery technology, and maximum power transfer and conversion system design and control for renewable energy such as solar power.

Power conversion based on modern power semiconductor devices is key enabling technology towards future carbon neutral society. The Power Conversion Systems Laboratory (PCSL) conducts comprehensive research on power conversion systems on the levels from power devices to power converters and power systems. Its research topics include application and characterization of silicon and WBG power semiconductor devices, control and topology of power converters for renewable generation and e-mobility, and dynamics of power electronics dominated modern power systems.
